This St. Thomas Sterling Silver Patron Saint Medal, 3/4" diameter with a 20” Stainless Steel Chain, is crafted in the United States and is made with the finest materials available. St. Thomas Aquinas was born of noble parents in 1226 and placed in the care of Benedictines. At the age of seventeen, he chose to enter the Order of St. Dominic despite opposition of his family. He studied theology and received his doctorate in 1257. His writings on Christian doctrine are well known, the most famous being Summa Theologiae. St. Thomas died in 1274 and was canonized by Pope John XXII in 1323.

The St. Thomas Sterling Silver Medal honors him as the Patron Saint of Catholic schools and students. His Feast Day is January 28.
