So many people in the small Tuscan town of Bagni di Lucca, through multiple generations, have played a role in creating Fontanini nativities and religious figures. These 5" figures are hand-crafted from a specially formatted polymer that is resistant to chipping and breaking and then delivered to locations throughout Bagni di Lucca, Italy, to be painted by the locals with non-toxic paints. After painting, the Fontanini figurines are brought back to the factory for inspection, packaging and shipping. The process is special as it allows you to have a truly "hand-made" Italian product. A delightful accompaniment included in this Nativity Set are story cards which offer a fictional account of each figurine at the time of Christ’s birth.
