The Mission Rosary was designed by Bishop Fulton Sheen for the Propagation of the Faith. Each Decade of the World Mission Rosary is a different color.  Each Color represents a different part of the world.  While praying the World Mission Rosary, each Decade may be offered for the Church's work on a particular Continent, the people of each Continent, or for special Mission Intentions.

The Colors of the World Mission Rosary are

  • Green:  The Forests of Africa
  • Blue:     The Waters of the Pacific Islands
  • White:   The Papal Color of Europe
  • Red:      The Passion of the Pioneer Spirit in the Americas
  • Yellow:  The Rising Sun of the Orient

On the Saint Teresa of Calcutta Multi-Color Mission Rosary 484-L-281MT the clear beads are symbolic of the White beads for Europe.  The crucifix of the rosary is the papal cross which became popular with Saint Pope John Paul II, a close friend of Mother Teresa. This rosary also comes with a nice intercessory prayer to Saint Teresa:

SAINT OF MERCY

We ask the little Mother, St. Teresa of Calcutta, whose enormous faith and love for living the Gospel, to help us open the doors of peace and mercy in our home and our nations, to offer those seeking refuge, hospitality and love.

May she always teach us to be the FACE of Charity, Hope and Mercy as we move forward this Jubilee Year of Mercy. Amen.

The fruit of silence is PRAYER.

The fruit of prayer is FAITH.

The fruit of faith is LOVE.

The fruit of love is SERVICE.

The fruit of service is PEACE.

God Bless you!

–Mother Teresa
