St. Nicole’s name was derived from St. Colette who was also known as Nicolette. St. Nicole (Colette) was born on January 13, 1381 at Corbie, France. She was orphaned at 13 and became a Franciscan tertiary. While living as a hermit, she had a vision that gave her the mission of reforming the Poor Clares to the purity of their original rule. She also founded 17 new convents. St. Nicole (Colette) was a gifted mystic and helped St. Vincent Ferrer to heal the Great Western Schism. She was canonized in 1807 by Pope Pius VII.

The St. Nicole Sterling Silver Medal honors her as the Patron Saint of the loss of parents. Her Feast Day is March 6.
