What is the story of St. Christopher?
St. Christopher (Christ-bearer) was known as Offero, a powerfully built man who took over a hermit's mission of guiding travelers to safety crossing a treacherous river. Unlike the hermit, Offero carried his travelers to safety. One day he carried a child whose weight was almost to much to bear. When they arrived safely, the child revealed himself as Christ. Christ baptized Offero who became known as Christopher and became known as the patron saint of Travelers.
