These Advent candles are made from Paraffin wax and are 3” High x 3” Wide.
There are 3 purple candles and 1 pink one. These candles are perfect for any center piece on your table or for your mantle and use in an Advent Wreath.
Advent is a time of reflection and prayer, contrary to the hustle and bustle of the season; we are called to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. Many families gather around their Advent wreath every evening for a prayer. There are 4 Sundays in Advent, and each time we light another Advent Candle. The First Sunday and week of Advent we light one purple Advent candle. The Second Sunday and week of Advent we light that first week Advent candle and another purple Advent candle. When we approach the Third Sunday of Advent, also known as Gaudete Sunday, we light the pink candle signifying joy, we will then have the first two purple Advent candles lit along with the pink Advent candle. Then another Purple candle is lit, before Christmas. These candles are placed in a circle, to signify just as a circle is continuous, so is God’s love for humanity. Many times the Advent Candles are also placed on an evergreen wreath, which signifies our everlasting life in Christ.
