St. Emily de Rodat was born in 1787 in Chateau Druelles, France. Always concerned for the needy, she opened a school for poor girls in Villefranche, where she founded the Sisters of the Holy Family. St. Emily devoted the rest of her life to the well-being of her institute, but also faced many spiritual trials that tested her faith.

St. Emily was canonized by Pope Pius XII in 1950. Her Feast Day is September 19.
