St. Jason was a disciple and friend of St. Paul. In the Acts of the Apostles (17:5-9), it is reported that Paul stayed with Jason in his house in Thessalonica. Paul calls Jason a “kinsman” in Romans (16:21). St. Jason was possibly the bishop of Tarsus and a missionary to Corfu. According to Syrian legend, he was martyred by being thrown to wild beasts.
The St. Jason Sterling Silver Medal honors him as the Patron Saint of those named Jason. His Feast Day is July 12.
