St. Justin, or St. Justin Martyr, was born into a pagan family in Palestine. He became a Christian at the age of thirty and traveled to debate pagan philosophers. When he got to Rome, Jude was denounced and tried with other Christians and all were scourged and beheaded. Justin was the first layman to serve as an apologist.
The St. Justin Sterling Silver Medal honors him as the Patron Saint of those named Justin. His Feast Day is June 1.
